KURIKAWA Kutami Paper Fan
Overview
The Kutami Shibu Uchiwa is a traditional Kumamoto Prefecture craft that has been handed down since the Edo period (1603-1868).
The surface of the fan is coated with persimmon tannin from unripe blue persimmons, which keeps the washi strong and protects it from insects.
The rustic coloring can be enjoyed as it ages.
The larger size is convenient for adjusting the heat in charcoal grills.
