A tanagiri pot is a tool for safely extinguishing charcoal.
Charcoal extinguished in a fire extinguisher pot is easy to reuse, and it is especially recommended when using expensive binchotan charcoal, as it burns well.

Safe to digest

Used charcoal can be digested with water, but it must be left overnight and further dried in the sun.
If there is any moisture left in the charcoal, it may explode the next time it is used.
Put the lit charcoal in the extinguishing pot and cover it with a lid, which will eliminate the oxygen inside and allow the charcoal to extinguish naturally.

Approximate time to digestion

Extinguishing time varies depending on the amount of charcoal. The fire is completely extinguished when the extinguishing jar cools down.

Precautions

• When the charcoal is added, the body becomes hot, so please wait until it has cooled down before carrying it around.
  
• Do not open the lid until the fire is completely extinguished. Opening the lid during the extinguishing process will allow oxygen to enter and rekindle combustion.
  
• Do not pour water on a hot crucible except in an emergency. Doing so may result in damage.
  
• Please handle with care as it is made of ceramic.
  
• Only the mini size is black. All other sizes are navy blue.
