Shapton Blade Mastermind Cream #12000
Product Features
The Kuromaku series has a blade with high grinding power
Shapton whetstones have a high abrasive content and strong grinding power, allowing you to sharpen your knife in a short amount of time.
In addition, there is no need to soak it in water for a long time before use; it can be used immediately after soaking for just 5 to 10 minutes.
Another feature is that the optimized binder maximizes the abrasive's performance, resulting in less chipping.
Applications of finishing stones
Finishing whetstones are used to make the blade sharper or to make the edge of the blade shiny.
For stainless steel knives, the sharpness can be restored using only a medium whetstone, but using a finishing whetstone tends to help the sharpness last longer.

How to use a whetstone
- Before you start sharpening, be sure to soak the whetstone thoroughly in water. When no more air bubbles appear, remove it from the water.
*If the whetstone is left submerged in water, it may become loose and dissolve. Be sure to soak it in water just before sharpening.
*Natural stones do not absorb water, so do not immerse them in water.
*Water soaking time varies depending on the product. - If you place the whetstone directly on the surface, to ensure safe sharpening, place it on a wet towel or similar to prevent it from moving.
- During sharpening, do not wash off the grinding residue. Instead, pour a small amount of water over the surface of the whetstone to prevent it from drying out.
- After sharpening, wash the whetstone thoroughly to remove any sharpening debris.
Maintenance method (surface repair)
- All whetstones wear down with use and become deformed, especially when hollowed out in the center.
- If you continue to use it as is, the blade will come into uneven contact and sharpening will not be performed properly, so make sure to always keep the whetstone smooth and level.
- After sharpening one or two pieces, use a correction whetstone or concrete (block) to grind the surface evenly.
