POINT 01

A whetstone that is easy to use for beginners

The 10Good series whetstones have been improved in hardness to provide a soft feel that is suitable for sharpening knives.
In addition, previous whetstones were sized to fit planes and were somewhat narrow in width, but the whetstones in this series are wider and designed to be easy to use for sharpening knives as well.

POINT 02

Uses of finishing stones

Finishing whetstones are used to make the blade sharper or to make the edge of the blade shiny.
For stainless steel knives, the sharpness can be restored using only a medium whetstone, but using a finishing whetstone tends to make the sharpness last longer.

Before sharpening

  • Using the template included in the whetstone packaging, draw a diagonal line (a guide for the knife angle) on the whetstone with a pen or similar.
  • Fill the sharpening box with water and soak the whetstone for about 30 minutes.
  • Set up the sharpening stand and whetstone. Place the whetstone near the front.

Care Instructions

  • Use a "surface straightening file" to keep the whetstone surface straight and store it to prevent it from becoming dented.
  • If you use your knife frequently, it will lose its sharpness within a month. We recommend sharpening it once every two months.

Regarding product quality

  • Discoloration (uneven color) may occur in some areas due to uneven mixing or imbalance of additives during the process of mixing the binder and abrasive, which are the raw materials for the grinding wheel.
  • Please note that some parts, such as the edges of the whetstone, may be blackened, but this occurs during the manufacturing process and is not a product defect.
  • There may be scuff marks in some places, but please note that this is due to the manufacturing process and does not indicate a product defect.
