Kamaasa Shoten (Taito-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Daisuke Kumazawa), a cooking utensil store founded in 1908 in Kappabashi, Tokyo, will participate in the event "Coco HESO" (organized by the Coco HESO Executive Committee/formed in 2021) to promote the charm of the area both within and outside the ward, with the aim of revitalizing and raising awareness of the Matsugaya area of Taito Ward, where ateliers and shops of creators of various genres such as leather goods and jewelry gather in small alleys . This first event will be held for three days from Friday , October 15th to Sunday , October 17th .
Matsugaya is surrounded by the energy of Ueno and Asakusa, and has preserved its old alleyways, making it a popular area where particular brands and creators gather. As it is located almost in the center of Taito Ward, the event was named "Coco HESO" likening Matsugaya to a "navel" and hoping that creators, shops, and visitors will become nutrients for the city and create new sensibilities.
During this event, creators' studios that are usually closed to the public will be open for shopping, and Kamaasa Shoten will hold live music shows by local musicians in the event space on the fourth floor of the knife department, making it a special three days to enjoy the town of Matsugaya. Why not take a walk around the town and find a place that stimulates your five senses?
Details of the participating creators and shops can be found on the Coco HESO website ( cocoheso.com/ *due to be released in Japan on September 22nd) or the Matsugaya Creators Map created by the Coco HESO Executive Committee, which is being distributed in the Matsugaya area.
