Kamaasa Shoten ( Taito- ku, Tokyo; CEO: Kumazawa Daisuke ) , a cooking utensil store founded in 1908 in Gaibashi, Tokyo, will be co -hosting a pop - up store " Good Cooking Tools Month to Enrich Your Daily Life" with Kosugyu, a public bathhouse founded in 1933 in Koenji, Suginami Ward , from Wednesday , December 1st to Sunday , December 26th , 2021 .
Kosugiyu is a traditional public bathhouse loved by many people as a place of relaxation in Koenji, where a diverse Chuo Line culture centered on music, fashion, and subculture coexists with good old history. It has the famous hot water, jet bath, milk bath, and cold bath, and hot and cold alternating baths are synonymous with Kosugiyu. In January 2021, it was registered as a national tangible cultural property (building), and is currently operated under the concept of "Ke no Hi no Hare", which is "small happiness that blends into the succession of daily life". This time, Kamaasa Shoten will sell about 50 tools that will bring "a little happiness" to your daily life, such as an iron rice cooker, a Kiso Sawara cutting board, a kitchen knife, and a Chinese steamer made of cypress, carefully crafted by excellent craftsmen from all over Japan under the concept of "Good Tools Month to Enrich Your Daily Life".
During the event, Kosugiyu will be running its own version of the "Mottainai Bath" initiative, with plans to sell Kamaasa Shoten's bath (cutting board bath), rice balls cooked in a Kamaasa rice cooker, and a free name-printing service. During the same period, Kamaasa Shoten will also be selling original Kosugiyu goods. Enjoy choosing your bathing utensils in a relaxing space while soaking in the warm water.
